Im trying to put off surgery so this was recommended to me. I t really helps alot. I have arthritis really bad in my thumb and I have tons of sewing to do and it has made a very big difference. The only con to this is because it is a hard plastic, it tends to cut me in the valley between the thumb and fore finger. My solution is to where a fingerless glove and then put the brace on
